Choosing a fixed mount reader
Do I need a smart reader, or is a compact one enough?
If the reader talks straight to a Siemens, Omron or other PLC over PROFINET, EtherNet/IP or Modbus TCP, choose VS110R, VS210 or VS600E. If a TCP/IP socket, serial or USB connection to a PC or controller is enough, VS95 or VS90 saves space and cost.
What triggers a read?
The PLC over the industrial protocol, a sensor wired to the digital input, or continuous reading. Results go back over the same connection; the digital outputs can drive a lamp or reject gate.
Can one reader cover a wide conveyor?
Field of view depends on the model, lens and distance. Send us the code size, the field you need to cover and the mounting distance, and we will check it before you order.
Which software configures them?
IDManager for VS95, VS110R, VS210 and VS600E; ScanSet for VS90. Both are in the download center.
