For moving axes and lines with little space

The VS95 is one of the two readers 3C electronics lines ask us for most. It goes where a larger reader will not fit: on a moving machine axis, beside a magazine rack, inside a fixture. Results go to the host over a TCP/IP socket or RS232C.

  • Ultra-compact aluminum alloy housing, 44.5 × 36.0 × 23.0 mm, 101 g
  • Dual-core high-efficiency processor
  • 1/4" global shutter CMOS, monochrome, 1280 × 1024 at 60 fps
  • Ethernet with TCP/IP, plus RS232C on a DB9 connector
  • One digital input and two outputs for trigger, lamp or reject gate
  • Wide 5–24 VDC supply range

How it reads

The window faces the part. One trigger, four steps.

  1. AimThe 650 nm laser marks where the reader is looking.
  2. LightRed LEDs light the code.
  3. CaptureThe global shutter sensor captures the code.
  4. OutputThe decoded result goes out over RS-232 or Ethernet, with two digital outputs for a lamp or reject gate.

Where it is mounted

The VS95 goes where space is tight: moving axes, test fixtures, machine interiors.

VS95 questions

VS95 or VS110R: which should I order?

If a TCP/IP socket or RS232C connection to a PC or controller is enough, the VS95 saves space and cost. If the reader talks straight to a Siemens, Omron or other PLC over PROFINET, EtherNet/IP or Modbus TCP, choose the ReadCell VS110R.

How far from the code does it mount?

Most industrial installations put it 8 to 10 cm from the code. The depth of field runs from 3–28 cm for 15 mil Data Matrix to 6–50 cm for 20 mil Code 128; send us the code size if unsure.

How is it powered?

Anything from 5 to 24 VDC, about 450 mA when operating and 150 mA in standby (typical).

Can it carry our brand?

Yes. See OEM and private label for the options; MOQ is quoted per project.
